Three days ago, we celebrated International Women’s Day. On the 1st of March Jana Rippberger had her second anniversary at Core-Backbone. What combines these two occasions? The fact, that women are playing even bigger role in IT-branch.
Feminine support improves creativity and strengthens cross-communication between teams. Women often have other approach than men, so they thinking in another way can score some points. That affects positively a company and the whole IT-branch.
- What is your position at Core-Backbone?
I am the authorized officer and Head of Finance at Core-Backbone.
- What is special about your job? What do you like about your duties?
In my job I do like the variety of tasks. It brings me real joy to deal with diverse cases and to figure out new scenarios. That is why this balance between financial issues and emotional personnel concerns is a new challenge every day.
- What do you like to do after work?
Besides work, I play soccer as performance sport. When I moved to Nuremberg because of my work, I switched to 1. FC Nürnberg and mostly spend my free time there. Furthermore, as Core-Backbone we are club’s main sponsor of the girl’s & women’s sector. Furthermore, when my schedule allows, I love to spend a lot of time on the sunny Mallorca, where Core-Backbone, by the way, has also its office location.
- You come originally from Heidelberg; how do you like it in Nuremberg?
Heidelberg is an interesting and beautiful city, which has a lot to offer. So, I still visit it with pleasure at the weekends. On the other hand, Nuremberg is also very charming and amazes me every time. I feel very comfortable, and I have settled in quickly, also Core-Backbone’s team helped me with it.
What do you appreciate the most in CBB? What differs CBB from other companies?
The working atmosphere at CBB is excellent. My colleagues are friendly, opened and very helpful, you never feel alone. I think that another advantage of Core-Backbone is dynamic, we have young and creative crew team, which complements each other and always brings in new ideas.
- What were you doing before entering CBB?
Before my time at CBB I was working at AUDI AG in Ingolstadt in various departaments, among others in marketing and sales section.
- How do you feel as a woman in IT?
I feel very comfortable, and I really enjoy working in men’s environment.
The nice thing is to be able to amaze the men sometimes.
What challenges awaited you as a young manager?
I have the chance of being able to work round to things slowly. Still, you have to prove yourself and gain the necessary acceptance, what not always can be easy. I believe it’s crucial to create your own leadership style. I see that as the biggest challenge, however at the same time very motivating for me.
We would like to thank Jana very much for her strong commitment and for her willingness. We wish her many more great years at Core-Backbone GmbH.
