After six months at Core-Backbone, we asked Svenja, our IT-Security & Project Manager, how she experienced her start with us and what impressions she’s gained so far. In a short interview, Svenja shares how she settled in as a newcomer to the industry, what she particularly values about working with the team, and how she’s been able to grow both professionally and personally with us.
How did you experience your first six months at Core-Backbone?
As a newcomer to the industry, I found the first six months to be very exciting. I gained a lot of new insights into the industry and my area of responsibility, and I learned a great deal.
Do you feel well integrated into your team and the company?
Yes, my colleagues actively included me from the very beginning and told me about the company and their work. Everyone is friendly toward one another, and I can approach anyone with questions at any time. They place their trust in me and my skills.
Do your tasks match the expectations you had before starting?
Yes, and they even exceed them. I should be transparent here and mention that I didn’t have many expectations before starting. I wanted to apply the knowledge I gained in my previous job and during my studies to the IT industry. However, my hope of receiving guidance as I entered this new industry was fully met.
Do you feel your strengths and skills are being well utilized?
Definitely. I’m able to effectively apply and build upon the strengths and skills I’ve acquired. Professional development is encouraged, both in terms of technical expertise and soft skills.
How do you perceive the working atmosphere and company culture?
The company culture is communicative and collaborative. Mistakes are addressed openly, and I can always count on support to help correct them.
What surprised you most positively in the past six months?
The team is young and, contrary to my previous experiences, relatively small. This makes the day-to-day work very dynamic. I find the short lines of communication, quick decisions, and swift implementation very refreshing and pleasant.
What do you wish for the coming months?
I’d like to continue developing my professional skills and solidifying my knowledge. Information security is an important and exciting field where there’s always something new to learn.
Thank you very much, Svenja, for these fascinating insights! We’re thrilled to have you on the team and look forward to seeing how you’ll continue to deepen your knowledge of information security and drive our projects forward with your ideas and expertise.
Given our ongoing growth, we’re looking for more dedicated talent like Svenja. Become part of our team – apply now!
